Yvonne P. Burdick, BSc(Hons), MHA, Consultant, Joint Commission Resources, Inc.
Ms. Burdick has experience as a health care administrator, as well as in operations, facility planning and construction, budgeting and staffing of health services, development and implementation of quality improvement programs, and health service accreditation systems internationally.
Ms. Burdick speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and French, and she has lived and worked in Scotland, Switzerland, Brazil, the United States, and Venezuela. She trained as a consulting surveyor with Joint Commission International and subsequently surveyed health care organizations and assisted in the development of accreditation programs internationally. She was a member of the team assigned to survey hospitals in Spain in collaboration with the Donabedian Institute, Barcelona, Spain.
Her most recent positions were as the Administrator of a Medical Center that offered 24-hour urgent care, laboratory, radiology, computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, family practice, and medical specialists and as Executive Director of a large medical and diagnostic center that included outpatient surgery and cardiac catheterization.
Ms. Burdick received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biological Sciences with Honors in Physiology from University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and her Master’s in Health Administration from Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia.
