Product Description

Product Description

The Joint Commission’s medication-related standards are some of the most challenging requirements for healthcare organizations.  Successful planning and implementation mean having an understanding of new areas of focus for surveyors.  What are the most challenging areas for those who design or manage medication systems today?
JCR has a medication management webinar series this year which will be providing updated information on many topics of interest relating to safe medication use, including:
  • Best practices for meeting the Joint Commission’s antimicrobial stewardship requirements
  • The Joint Commission’s new approach to pain management, opioid prescribing and controlled substance management in hospitals
  • What Joint Commission hospitals need to know about USP Chapters <797> and <800>
  • Medication Management Update for 2018
After completing this activity, the participant should be able to:
  • Identify the top survey findings related to medication management
  • Discuss The Joint Commission’s new approach to pain management
  • Describe strategies for safe opioid prescribing
Target Audience
This activity is relevant to pharmacists, nurse leaders, physicians, organization leaders, managers and supervisors, and staff responsible for performance improvement (PI), patient safety, and risk management initiatives.
