Cost Effective Ways to use Data to Drive Improvement

Featured Speaker: Elaine Buccellato, RN, Surveyor, The Joint Commission

This audio-conference addresses the ways that an effective performance improvement system can address current financial concerns in health care organizations. The presentation will illustrate how a performance improvement system can help to reduce costs, both by improving processes to be efficient and effective and by reducing "non-valued" costs such as failures, rework, customer dissatisfaction, and poor outcomes. It will address the difference between the "good" quality costs and the "poor" quality costs. Health care organizations need to be able to connect costs to negative outcomes and drill down for variations in processes that contribute to the negative outcomes and higher costs.

Intended Audience:

  • Long Term Care Professionals
  • Hospital Leadership
  • Chief Nursing Officers
  • Administration and Management
  • Management and staff
