Featured Speaker: Jay R. Afrow, DMD, MHA, Surveyor, Ambulatory Care Accreditation Services, The Joint Commission
Office Based Surgery Centers in the state of New York are now required by law to obtain and/or maintain accreditation status. Additionally, Office Based Surgery Centers in South Carolina performing procedures requiring moderate, deep or general anesthesia are also required to obtain accreditation within the first year of operation. This movement towards accreditation status represents an opportunity for Office Based Surgery Centers throughout the United States to optimize their focus on patient safety and well-being as accreditation guidelines and standards address practices such as credentialing, licensing, patient safety and the reporting of adverse events. Join our Joint Commission Surveyor, Jay Afrow, as he covers the basics of Joint Commission Accreditation and Standards.
