Handoff Communications: Toolkit for Implementing National Patient Safety Goal 2E
The Joint Commission's NPSG 2E (Implement a standardized approach to handoff communications) is designed to help health care organizations prevent communication breakdowns that result in patient harm. This toolkit includes an Implementation Guide that explains how to implement proper handoff communication processes and techniques, with case studies on effective handoff programs. The accompanying CD-ROM contains more than 40 additional resources to help organizations create or improve their patient handoff process. Available in May 2008.
