Paula Tietjen, RN, MSN, CPHQ

CSR Consultant, Joint Commission Resources

Ms. Tietjen has more 25 years of executive health care experience.  Her career has largely been in the arena performance improvement.   Her most recent position prior to joining Joint Commission Resources (JCR) was as Vice President Quality Management for a managed behavioral health care company where she designed and implemented a quality management program for an integrated state-wide, multiple-agency behavioral health initiative in New Mexico

During her career Ms. Tietjen has been accountable for overseeing regulatory and accreditation services and has been actively involved in building and implementing outcomes management programs.  Her experiences ranged from VA hospitals to academic medical centers, which bring a varied view on successful strategies to meet and exceed accreditation and regulatory requirements.  She has led numerous successful surveys during her career and has been involved with surveys in hospitals, hospice, behavioral health, long term care and ambulatory care.  Her clinical background in geriatrics as well as her varied leadership experiences in having administrative accountability for the multiple departments in the hospital setting brings strength to her role for Joint Commission Resources.  Additionally Ms. Tietjen has held faculty positions where she has taught behavioral health and advance practice nursing courses.

Ms. Tietjen received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Skidmore College, a Master of Science in Nursing from Seton Hall University.  She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and a Baldrige National Quality Program Examiner
