Carol Abbey, RN, CSR Consultant, Joint Commission Resources
Carol Abbey, RN, of Millbury, Ohio, was a Joint Commission surveyor for the home care and network components, and integrated survey process for hospitals, long term care, behavioral health, and home care programs. Ms. Abbey has served as corporate clinical director and she continues to practice nursing in the acute care and long term care settings. She also has experience serving as a quality liaison with a pharmaceutical company and as a quality, education, and compliance manager with a large hospital-based home care agency; practicing nursing in acute care in medical/surgery and trauma services; holding adjunct faculty positions at the Medical College of Ohio and Lourdes College; and serving as a preceptor for students from Lourdes College, Graceland College, and Medical College of Ohio. Currently, Ms. Abbey serves as a regional representative in the Joint Commission Resources, Continuous Service Readiness program. Ms. Abbey received her bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Capital University, Columbus, Ohio, and is affiliated with Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
