Jane Schetter is currently a resident of Fostoria, Ohio. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Psychology at Mary Manse College in Toledo, Ohio; a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio; and a Master of Science degree in Nursing at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo with a specialty in Community Health and Healthcare Management. Mrs. Schetter conducted research regarding the Effects of Home Health Care on the Rehospitalization Rates of the Chronically Ill Elderly and in Caseload and Workload Analysis for Projecting Staffing Needs in Home Health Care. She is also certified as a Provider Credentialing Specialist.

Prior to joining the Ohio Hospital Association’s Continuous Survey Readiness Program as their JCR Regional Representative, Mrs. Schetter served in both staff and administrative positions in home health care and hospital organizations. Her most recent position outside of the Joint Commission was as Vice President of Patient Care and Standards at Fostoria Community Hospital. Combining her experience with home care and hospitals, in 1996 and 1997 she assisted in the development and piloting of the JCAHO integrated survey process for small and rural hospitals, evaluating compliance to the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals (CAMH), the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Home Care (CAMHC) and the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Long Term Care (CAMLTC). In 2002, she assisted in the piloting of Shared Visions-New Pathways survey process.

Mrs. Schetter is affiliated with the American Hospital Association (Section for Aging and Long-Term Care), National Association for Home Care, Hospice Association of America, Sigma Theta Tau, the American Nurse Association and the Ohio Nurse Association.

Mrs. Schetter served as a Joint Commission surveyor for fifteen years (1988-2003) and was trained in the Accreditation Manuals for Home Care, Long Term Care, Behavioral Health, and Hospitals, including Critical Access Hospitals. Currently, Mrs. Schetter is a Continuous Survey Readiness Senior Regional Representative at Joint Commission Resources, Inc., Oakbrook Terrace, IL, and has primary responsibilities in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Mrs. Schetter serves as faculty for the Department of Education Programs.
