The Joint Commission has expanded the scope of service and involvement for the Life Safety Code Specialist as it pertains to the survey process. Effective January 1, 2008, The Life Safety Code Specialist is responsible for evaluating specific environment of care and Life Safety Code accreditation criteria and educating the organization during the survey about related compliant and not compliant areas, opportunities for improvement, and remedial action that may be required. This audio conference will review the role of the Life Safety Code Specialist and address strategies to ensure that your organization is fully prepared to meet accreditation criteria related to this expanded role.
