Mr. Feldbauer currently serves as Practice Leader for engineering and safety services for Joint Commission Resources, Inc. (JCR) and Joint Commission International (JCI). In this capacity he provides oversight and coordination for all engineering and safety activities in consulting, environment of care program assessment, education and publications across multiple health care settings. He practices both in the U.S. and international settings.
Mr. Feldbauer has broad experience practicing and teaching about health care facilities management, design and construction, and environment of care compliance. He served as one of the original 50 Life Safety Code Specialists hired by The Joint Commission to survey health care organizations for compliance with environment of care standards. He has served on numerous local, state and national health care engineering committees and task forces and is a frequently requested speaker for health care seminars and conferences.
Mr. Feldbauer has worked in acute care organizations in a variety of capacities. He recently served as Vice President, Operations, at Mercy Hospital Fairfield in Fairfield, Ohio. Prior to that, he served in director positions at a community hospital and in an academic teaching hospital, responsible for facilities management, safety programs, environmental services, construction and clinical engineering.He has a bachelor's degree in construction engineering management from Syracuse University, a master's degree in project management from ITT Technical Institute, and a master's degree in Health Administration from the University of Southern Indiana. He is a Fellow, American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE); a Senior, American Society for Healthcare Engineering (SASHE); and a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) through the American Hospital Association.
