Program Summary
The Periodic Performance Review, (PPR) is an important part of the accreditation process. It provides organizations the ability to thoroughly assess themselves against the standards, document their own findings, drill down to get to the real issues for non-compliance and create a plan of action provides the road map for regaining and maintaining compliance. Clearly written measures of success also give the organization the ability to determine how well the plan of action is working.
At the end of the survey developing clearly written Evidence of Standards Compliance and Measures of Success not only helps in achieving accreditation but can provide a starting point and focus for the next PPR Plans of actions and evidence of standards compliance need to go beyond the usual steps of writing a policy, or educating staff. Drilling down to get to the real reasons for noncompliance and then focusing the plans and measures for resolving and monitoring implementation will lead to fewer RFIs, better consistency in how staff carry out processes, and safer care.
Learn how to use findings from the PPR to get to the main cause of non-compliance and develop an effective plan of action that will address identified issues. The program emphasizes development of evidence of standards compliance (both corrective and clarifying), plans of action, and measures of successAlong with basic statistical analysis for trending MOS data. Faculty will also discuss what to have in place in preparation for the unannounced survey.
