AMP Updates for 2008

The Joint Commission will not be updating any of standards midyear in 2008 in order to concentrate on the Strategic Improvement Initiative that will generate substantive changes in the standards for particular programs in 2009. Therefore there will only be a 2008 Core Release for AMP.

We are please to provide access to Update 1 for the Comprehensive Accreditation Manuals to AMP customers later in March. Note that this is an informational update about the 2009 standards and has no impact on the 2008 version of Accreditation Manager Plus. There is no need to install this PDF as part of your AMP installation.

The 2008 Update 1 focuses on changes related to The Joint Commission’s Standards Improvement Initiative (SII). Included is the following:

  • Details about the reorganization of the standards and the new numbering format
  • An explanation of the new scoring methodology that goes into effect on January 1, 2009, for all programs
  •  A preview of the 2009 "Infection Prevention and Control" (IC), "Management of Information" (IM), and "Improving Organization Performance" (PI) standards
  • Comparison Tables which list the current standards and elements of performance and where they may be found in the 2009 standards

What's new in 2008

As always, the new release will contain the most current version of the Joint Commission standards for scoring as they go into effect. Several other features are anticipated in this release including:

  • The site manager will be able to accept site coordinator's scoring decisions at a chapter level rather than having to accept each score at the standard level. This will help reduce efforts in the scoring area.
  • For web versions additional text formatting options will be available for the organizational notes fields. The additional formatting will enhance the readability of the information in the notes.
  • For web versions team coordinators and staff are sent e-mail alerts when they are assigned new tasks.
  • Enhanced data security with an encrypted PPR upload file.
  • 2 additional reports, Plan of Action and Associated Documents, will be available.
  • Revised User Guide with greater differentiation of functionality by user type.
