(Oak Brook, Ill.- January 23, 2008) Joint Commission Resources (JCR) today announced its 2008 Luminary Audio Series-a three-part audio conference, featuring three visionary leaders in the health care industry including: Mark R. Chassin, M.D., M.PP., M.P.H., president, The Joint Commission; Donald M. Berwick, M.D., M.P.P., president and CEO, Institute for Healthcare Improvement; and Lucian L. Leape, M.D., adjunct professor of health policy, Harvard School of Public Health.
Each 60-minute audio conference will allow participants to hear from an industry leader, and ask questions. Participants may register for an individual conference or the entire series. JCR is a not-for-profit affiliate of The Joint Commission.

The 2008 Luminary Audio series includes: "The Greatest Challenges Facing Health Care Today," January 25, led by Lucian L. Leape, M.D. Dr. Leape will provide his perspectives not only on how to keep pace with challenges, but how to get out in front of them before they impact an organization. "Opportunities to Improve Health Care via Collaboration and Change," March 21, will be led by Donald M. Berwick, M.D., M.P.P. Dr. Berwick will discuss how health care organizations can use collaborations with other organizations and resources to foster change and improvement in order to enhance the standard of care provided to patients.
"The Future of Health Care," May 23, will be led by Mark R. Chassin, M.D., M.P.P., M.P.H. Dr. Chassin will present his thoughts on how today's tough health care issues will impact the industry in the future, and how The Joint Commission will work with the industry to meet the shared mission of improving the safety and quality of patient care.
