Program Summary
Clinicians and administrators are challenged every day to improve the quality of healthcare, including reducing instances of medical harm, which occurs nearly 15 million times annually or about 40,000 incidents per day. Infection control practitioners are intimately aware of how infectious incidents contribute to that rising number and are acutely aware of how these instances, through good practices, can be avoided.
This must attend national conference promises practical, (implementable) tools and strategies from successful organizations that have made significant improvements to minimize or reduce health care acquired infections within their organizations. Each participant will receive a CD with usable tools, checklists, forms and policies that address the strategies presented to implement upon return to their organizations. Topics range from IC quality and performance improvement to patient safety to environmental design. Health care delivery best practices include strategies to drive risk assessments to tactics to address MDROs.
New this year! This year, there are eight different sessions to choose from to customize your educational experience, which includes two tracks to select from: Innovative Infection Control Strategies in Alternative Settings or Infection Control Tools/Protocols. At the end of the track sessions, an experienced Infection Control moderator will lead a discussion on how your organization can implement the strategies learned in the session, how to sustain improvements and how to apply the information just learned for your organization.
