Hear one family’s campaign to establish a “Safe Care Campaign” after their son, Josh, died from an infection he caught from his care in October 2006.  They have developed a website to better education patients and their families regarding good, safe care, and work closely with CDC, APIC and hospital health care systems in the effort to prevent these infections thru a variety of educational projects, hand hygiene, videos and speaking engagements.

Healthcare Acquired Infection (HAI)- Allied Task Force: Compendium of Practical Implementation Strategies for the Prevention and Monitoring of HIA Infections in Acute-Care Hospitals 
Healthcare Acquired Infection (HAI) – Allied Task Force is lead by IDSA and SHEA.  Other primary organizations in the HAI-Allied Task Force includes APIC, The Joint Commission and AHA.  This task force has developed a new set of infection control implementation strategies based on existing evidence-based guidelines and research for six common HAI's including surgical site infections, catheter associated blood stream infections, catheder associated UTI's, ventilator acquired pneumonia, MRSA and C-DAD.  These strategies will be presented with an emphasis on how to implement in your organization.
