Program Objectives

• Identify the drivers to effect change in nursing education
• Discuss the gaps in current nursing education programs which are barriers to the profession's ability to meet national mandates for improving quality and safety of patient care
• Address and identify opportunities within current nursing education programs to adapt clinical Microsystems, the science of improvement and safety into future curriculum
• Determine the appropriate metrics for evaluating the success of educational programs from a variety of stakeholders' perspectives
• Adapt and apply strategies to develop and validate nursing competencies through expanded practical application within the clinical setting
• Create a strategy for participants to connect and share experiences over time
