AMP® and E-dition® FAQs
1. What is E-dition?
E-dition provides online access to the Joint Commission standards. It has the same content as the Comprehensive Standards Manual.
2. What is AMP?
Accreditation Manager Plus® is an electronic tool used to help health care organizations maintain continuous compliance with standards set by The Joint Commission. It is built on top of E-dtion and has the same functionality such a full-text searching, filtering, and history tracking. In addition, AMP has project management features that help with self assessment.
3. Do I need to order E-dition as well as AMP?
No. An AMP license has E-dition bundled in the cost. So if you buy an AMP Hospital site license you get an E-dition Hospital license too.
4. Is the content of the printed manual (CAM) the same as E-dition or AMP?
Yes, E-dition and AMP include all of the content in the printed manual.
5. Will my organization's data be migrated from AMP 2011 to 2012?
Data including scoring, organization notes, plans of action and associated documents will be migrated. Scores will be migrated for EPs that have not been identified as having been revised by the Joint Commission. For those EPs that had a significant change the score will be reset to "Not Scored", but all other information will be migrated.
6. Will there still be a PDF of the print manual distributed with E-dition and AMP?
No, E-dition replaces the need for the PDF. With the introduction of 2011 E-dition, users can print an entire chapter if desired.
7. What does "hosted" mean?
Starting in 2011, all of JCR's software will be available only through secure web site. There is no hardware to buy or maintain nor any software to load - you simply need a computer with access to the internet.
