JCR is launching its inaugural Virtual Learning Community and invites all interested health care professionals and organizations to join this community.

• The mission of the JCR Virtual Learning Community is to provide health care providers with valuable, practical information to help improve patient safety and quality of care. We welcome health care providers from any health care setting—hospitals, long term care, ambulatory care, home care, critical access hospitals, behavioral health care, labs—as well as those who work in public health or industry. Please join us!

• JCR’s Basic Learning Community provides access to information as well as interactive content and discussions. Members can stay on top of the latest news and alerts, learn from subject matter experts, access various resources, and ask or answer questions by participating in our blog and discussion forums. All of this information is FREE and available to all who access the learning community website.

• Our first learning community topic is multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) and antibiotic resistance, a critical, worldwide issue. Future topics will be determined by YOU. What do you need as a health care professional? Such topics might include hand hygiene, surgical site infections, patient falls, or other areas of concern.

• Stay tuned for our Advanced Learning Communities! JCR will be introducing Advanced Learning Communities that will enroll organizations who wish to work together to improve care related to a specific health care issue. Advanced Learning Community members will participate in JCR-expert-facilitated, short-term projects where they will share their knowledge and experience with other professionals to discover, and implement feasible strategies and share their impact on quality and safety in their own health care organizations.
