Carol is a master’s prepared RN whose experience prior to joining Joint Commission Resources included consulting with General Electric Healthcare Information Systems conducting process redesign utilizing Lean, Six Sigma and CAP in preparation for the implementation of clinical information systems technology. Prior to General Electric, Carol spent the majority of her career in multiple positions in hospital administration. She was most recently the director of the largest heart institute in Maryland, which performs 1200 open heart cases and 800 cardiac catheterization cases annually. The institute covered patient care from pre-hospitalization to home care including emergency department, critical care, telemetry, cardiac operating room, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization and medical surgical care units.
Carol also was adjunct faculty for the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins Graduate Schools and served on faculty for Baltimore Community College and on the Advisory Board for The College of Notre Dame. Carol has been active in both the Maryland Organization of Nurse Executives holding multiple positions including President Elect, President and Past President and on multiple committees of the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
