Ms. Eichner has more than 25 years of experience in health care and brings extensive experience in leadership, management, performance improvement, outcomes management, and case management to her role as a CSR Consultant and as a faculty member for the Joint Commission Resources, Inc. (JCR) Department of Education.
Before joining JCR, Ms. Eichner served as both chief nursing officer and vice president of quality and utilization management in a five-hospital health care system in San Antonio, Texas. In these roles, she provided leadership and management to the system for Joint Commission accreditation readiness and regulatory compliance. Previously, Ms. Eichner served as director of collaborative practice for a community hospital, during which time she was responsible for oversight of case management, regulatory compliance, collaborative pathways, clinical outcomes improvement, and access management.
Ms. Eichner has held numerous operational leadership positions in both teaching and community hospitals. Her clinical experiences include intensive care, bone marrow and solid organ transplantation, pediatrics, trauma, and burn management and rehabilitation. She has presented extensively in the areas of patient safety, performance improvement, accreditation readiness, clinical outcomes, core measures, and hospital operations.
Ms. Eichner’s consulting expertise includes leadership in organizational development; staff education; team building; cost-effective operations; patient safety; organization performance improvement (leadership, management, and data management skills); outcomes management including clinical paths (design, implementation and data management); standards and survey process (technical assistance, education, compliance strategies, and management); and systems analysis and design.
Ms. Eichner received her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Iowa College of Nursing, Iowa City, Iowa, and her master of science in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Her professional affiliations include Sigma Theta Tau, American Organization of Nurse Executives, National Association for Healthcare Quality, and Texas Association for Healthcare Quality. She is also a Joint Commission-certified Yellow Belt.
