Jodell Speckhart brings expertise in patient safety, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, home care, hospice, ambulatory surgery and Baldrige criteria to her role as a Continuous Service Readiness consultant for Joint Commission Resources, Inc. Ms. Speckhart is a trained performance improvement facilitator and change agent.
Ms. Speckhart has worked for Blessing Health System in Quincy, Illinois for 27 years as a Regulatory Compliance Coordinator. In her role as coordinator she is responsible for Joint Commission Accreditation for the hospital, home care, hospice and ambulatory surgery center. She is responsible for the ACHC accreditation of four DME sites, CARF accreditation and Chest Pain Center accreditation. Ms. Speckhart has developed and trained teams to conduct ongoing mock surveys. She has served in a variety of leadership roles for Blessing Health System, including Director of Quality Management, which included managing the quality improvement activities of the hospital and medical staff, infection control, utilization management, medical staff office and risk management.
Ms. Speckhart is a Baldrige examiner and has been an Illinois Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence examiner for seven years. She served as lead examiner for four years assessing not only health care organizations but education and the service sector as well.
Ms. Speckhart received her bachelor’s degree in health care management from Ottawa University in Kansas City, Kansas. She is a Registered Health Information Technologist and a Certified Professional in Health Care Quality and has completed a 30-hour OSHA training course. She is also a Joint Commission-certified Yellow Belt.
