Annual Ambulatory Care Conference

Annual Ambulatory Care Conference - Ambulatory Accreditation Compliance 2010: Keys to Success

Ambulatory care is the predominant method of providing health care in the United States today. Care in physicians’ offices is the largest and most widely used segment of the American health care system with more than a billion visits made to physician offices  and outpatient clinics each year. As this segment of health care continues to grow regulators, payers, managed care organizations and patients are beginning to put increasing focus on patient safety in ambulatory care settings. However, there are few safety tools and processes created for ambulatory settings.

Ambulatory care providers are using The Joint Commission’s accreditation as a method to demonstrate a commitment to improving patient safety. The standards have a patient safety and performance improvement focus.  Accreditation provides a marketing advantage by showing the community that the organization is committed to providing the highest quality services. Accreditation is also used by providers to gain an edge in contract bidding and enhance risk management activities.

Ambulatory care providers have told us that they want a conference that highlights the best practices for meeting and successfully maintaining compliance with The Joint Commission standards and challenging issues for ambulatory care organizations. The 14th Annual Ambulatory Care Conference is designed to highlight best-practices for challenging issues in ambulatory care settings.

The conference examines major accreditation issues in depth, and offers strategies and solutions leading to enhance compliance with standards and improved safety for patients.  Whether it’s the plenary session topics that complement all ambulatory settings or the individualized track sessions, there is something for you. There is ample opportunity for networking including an informal information exchange.  And, you will leave the conference with materials from the faculty presentations aggregated into a CD-ROM tool kit to enable you to lead the way to change.

Target Audience
The conference is designed for those who provide care across all ambulatory health care settings including nurse managers, staff nurses, quality improvement professionals, physicians, laboratory technicians, and administrative staff.
