This session will provide an overview for leadership with a particular focus on patient safety. The faculty will provide an overview of the status of The Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) and related requirements. The focus of this session will be challenging standards found in 2009, expectations for 2010, and an update on hot topics related to the Patient Safety Advisory Group.
Objectives
Upon completion of this event, participants will be able to:
1) Discuss the ongoing important role that leadership has in patient safety efforts
2) Gain insight into the most frequent challenges that hospitals are experiencing in 2009
3) Plan how to proactively prepare your organization for 2010 expectations
