Environment of Care Base Camp
July 16 - 17, 2009, Baltimore, Maryland
Environment of Care Base Camp
This program provides individuals an overview of management of the environment of care (EC) with the knowledge that leads to an increased confidence in their ability to manage the environment of care programs within their organization. You will acquire a basic training foundation about the environment of care and leave with tools that can help achieve and maintain continuous standards compliance. This 2-day event will provide a comprehensive overview of the EC standards and intents, the new survey process and role of the Life Safety Specialist, as well as a document review of the Statement of Conditions (SOC). In addition, you will have the opportunity to ask candid questions and engage in discussion with key Joint Commission staff that have in-depth knowledge of the standards and will provide answers to questions.
Objectives:
• Identify Life Safety Code Compliance issues and use the SOC as a management tool
• State the fundamental principles of assessment, policy development, training, inspection, information collection, and analysis and their application in each of the seven EC program areas
• Utilize existing management plans, annual evaluations, data collection tools, and performance monitors for completing periodic reviews
Target Audience:
Designed for those new to the environment of care and those looking to re-energize an existing program.
