Hospital Accreditation Essentials
This seminar features a comprehensive look at the entire accreditation process, standards, and National Patient Safety Goals. Chapter-by-chapter coverage of the comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals will study the most challenging standards, hot topics, and new requirements. Faculty will share experiences and successful implementation strategies observed during surveys and consultations. Participants will examine tracer methodology and how to prepare for the survey process, post-survey requirements, accreditation decisions, and more.
Special Note:
Information about the Standards Improvement Initiative (SII) will be incorporated into this seminar. Included in the presentations will be a discussion about the new standards numbering system, new chapters, scoring process, response to non-compliant standards, criticality of findings, and accreditation decisions.
Objectives:
• Summarize the continuous accreditation process
• Describe the on-site survey activities
• State effective actions for complying with the National Patient Safety Goals and their related requirements
• Become familiar with each chapter of the CAMH
Target Audience:
Individuals responsible for coordinating or implementing Joint Commission hospital accreditation and standards compliance, including those organizations considering accreditation. (Survey coordinators, hospital managers, quality improvement directors, risk managers, safety directors)
