CMS Mandate on Preventing Hospital Acquired Conditions

Hospital acquired, catheter associated UTI is one of the ten categories that Medicare will no longer offer reimbursement for treatment. For hospital patient discharges after October 1, 2008, hospitals will not receive additional Medicare payments for treating any of the ten conditions if it was not present on admission.
