CJCP® Eligibility Requirements

Candidates seeking CJCP certification must meet both the application eligibility requirements, along with application requirements as defined below. CJCP eligibility is subject to change.

Applicant Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility Requirements for potential candidates include:

  • Baccalaureate degree or higher, plus current employment at a hospital, organization, or system level with two (2) years experience in an accreditation preparation, assistance, coordination, management, or maintenance role. If employment is fewer than two (2) years, candidate must have three (3) consecutive years of previous employment in an accreditation preparation role (includes hospital/system, home care, ambulatory care, long term care, or behavioral health care organizations)

OR

  • Associate degree or a Registered Nurse (with active, unrestricted license), plus current employment at a hospital, organization, or system level with five (5) years experience in an accreditation preparation, assistance, coordination, management, or maintenance role. If employment is fewer than five (5) years, candidate must have four (4) consecutive years of previous employment in an accreditation preparation role (includes hospital/system, home care, ambulatory care, long term care, or behavioral health care organizations)

Application Requirements:

  1. Meeting application due dates (dependent on scheduled exams dates and schedules)
  2. Applications must include:
    • Completion of formal electronic application
    • Submission of applicant’s current job description
    • Submission of applicant’s current organizational chart with their job role demonstrated
    • Letter from hospital, organization, or system executive (Administrator, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer) confirming the applicant’s current position and responsibilities
    • Submission of application fee ($375)
    • Agreement to be available if selected, for a random scheduled interview (conducted by a JCR staff member, and/or team member)

 

CJCP is currently only available to candidates working within the United States. The exam is based off of the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals (U.S. standards).
