What's New and Improved in 2012
E-dition Version 4.0
The latest E-dition, Version 4.0, will be available for customers in early November 2012. Customers can pre-order for 2012 by calling customer service at 877.223.6866 or through the online renewal process - see ordering options.
Following new features and functions can be enjoyed in the new 4.0 version –
All programs with standards effective date January 1, 2012 will
be available. Several programs have updates to their service profile.
- New Advanced Palliative Care Certification Program
A new Advanced Palliative Care Certification program will be available. The Joint Commission’s new Advanced Certification Program for Palliative Care is designed to recognize hospital inpatient programs that demonstrate exceptional patient and family-centered care in order to optimize the quality of life for patients with serious illness. Palliative care involves addressing physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs and facilitating patient autonomy, access to information and choice. This new program can be found under the E-dition Certification product by clicking on the Health Care Services Certification option. New alphabetical shortcuts have been added to the E-dition glossary. When clicked, each letter of the alphabet will take you to the first word in the glossary that begins with that letter allowing the User a quicker and easier way to find glossary entries.

· 2011 Standards
All programs with standards effective date January 1, 2011 will
be available. Several programs have updates to their service profile.
· Print Entire Chapters
As requested by our current users, now you can print an entire
chapter in addition to the current feature of printing standards. .
· Automatic Program Selection
The application will remember the health care program a user
selects and will automatically be selected for the user
each time they login.
