Because regulations and guidelines do change, it is a good idea to check for updates from your state, county or city on a regular basis and always before registering for a specific course to make sure it will be acceptable for your license/certification renewal

Summary of Continuing Education contact hours awarded for this program:

  • ACCME: CME - 1 hour for each session
  • ANCC: 1 hour for each session
  • ACPE: 1 hour for each session

The Joint Commission is accredited to provide continuing education credit/hours by the following organizations:

JOINT ACCREDITATION (ACCME, ANCC, ACPE):
The Joint Commission is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Clinicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The Joint Commission takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this educational activity.

ACHE:

Joint Commission is authorized to award pre-approved ACHE Qualified Education credit for programs toward advancement, or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in select programs wishing to have the continuing education hours applied toward ACHE Qualified Education credit must self-report their participation. To self-report, participants should log into their MyACHE account and select ACHE Qualified Education Credit.

CA Board of Registered Nursing:
Joint Commission Resources is provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 6381 for the listed contact hours.

CJCP® (Certified Joint Commission Professional®):
To obtain CJCP credit hours, individuals must first be certified before they may start acquiring CJCP credit hours. CJCP credit hours will not be retroactive. CJCP professionals are required to maintain 30 CJCP credit hours within their three-year certification period.

IACET:
The Joint Commission is an authorized provider to provide continuing education units (CEUs) for select educational programs by The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). CEUs are accepted by many companies, boards and organizations for specialty licenses and certifications. For further information about IACET, check the website (www.IACET.org). Participants are strongly encourages to check with their specific state regulatory boards, employers or other agencies to confirm that educational programs taken from the Joint Commission for IACET CEUs will be accepted.

ABQAURP:
The Joint Commission is authorized to award pre-approved ABQAURP Qualified Education credit for select programs that meet the Health Care Quality & Management (HCQM) exam eligibility requirements, or recertification requirements for ABQAURP Diplomates.  Participants wishing to have JCR continuing education hours in select programs applied toward ABQAURP recertification credit should indicate their attendance when submitting application to ABQAURP. For additional information www.abqaurp.org/ABQMain/jcr.aspx.

Criteria for Successful Completion:

  • Full attendance at every session is a prerequisite for receiving full continuing education credits
  • Completion of program evaluation form
