Please note that not all components of Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals (CAMH) will be reviewed. Content at a higher level will be identified by faculty. We recommend that the participants independently review the CAMH in its entirety. This includes the administrative policies, accreditation participation requirements, standards, rationales, and elements of performance. In addition, to better prepare for the CJCP examination, we recommend review of Perspectives, and the various materials available on The Joint Commission’s website, which has links to Standards FAQs, High Reliability, the Center for Transforming Healthcare and Joint Commission Online. You may also wish to consider Environment of Care News, and The Source. For CMS-related content, candidates are also encouraged to be familiar with the CMS State Operations Manual and Code for Federal Regulations (CFR).

Criteria for Successful Completion of this course:
  • Listening to the learning module, in its entirety, is required in order to obtain the available CEs.
  • Participants will earn CE hours towards ACCME, ANCC, and ACHE by completing the required attendance attestation and by completing the Customer Satisfaction Survey.
The Joint Commission is accredited to provide continuing education credit/hours by the following organizations:
The Joint Commission is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME - AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Joint Commission is authorized to award (To Be Determined) hour of pre-approved ACHE Qualified Education credit for this program toward advancement, or recertification, in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program who wish to have the continuing education hours applied toward ACHE Qualified Education credit must self-report their participation. To self-report, participants should log into their MyACHE account and select ACHE Qualified Education Credit.
CA Board of Registered Nursing:
Joint Commission Resources is provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 6381 for the listed contact hours.

CJCP® (Certified Joint Commission Professional®):
To obtain CJCP credit hours, individuals must first be certified before they may start acquiring CJCP credit hours. CJCP credit hours will not be retroactive. CJCP professionals are required to maintain 30 CJCP credit hours within their three-year certification period.
Criteria for Successful Completion:
  • Full attendance at every session is a prerequisite for receiving full continuing education credits
  • Completion of program evaluation form
  • NOTE: For Pharmacists, you will be required to provide your NAPB # and DOB (MM/DD)

What is a Continuing Education Unit?
Through the Continuing Education Unit System, you receive formal recognition for improving your knowledge and skills by completing Joint Commission seminars.
Under the CEU system, one unit is awarded for completion of 10 hours of participation in our seminars and conferences in an organized, continuing education experience that provides responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction.
What does the CEU mean to you and your career?
You receive immediate recognition for your career development efforts. A CEU certificate suitable from framing will be sent to you upon satisfactory completion of the Joint Commission seminar you have attended.
The CEU system…
  • Allows you to build a permanent record of achievement as you take part in education or training to further your career.
  • Provides a means for showing supervisors, personnel officers and others an official document that shows you have completed a seminar as part of your preparation for wider responsibilities and higher-level positions.
  • Offers a means for giving official confirmation of your completion of continuing professional education seminars to certification bodies, licensing boards and professional societies.
