2020 Infection Control Webinar Series

SKU# WEB20IC

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates there are approximately 1.7 million new cases of infections that are acquired by patients during their stay in hospitals every year. Of these, approximately 99,000 result in death (although there may be other factors besides infection), making health care–associated infections (HAIs) one of the top ten causes of death in the United States. From a business perspective, this translates into a cost of approximately $4.5–$6.5 billion a year for hospitals to combat these infections.

Continuing education is available for one year after each live session.

Live sessions take place from 12:00-1:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST) on Thursdays:

  • Maintenance, Renovation, and Construction: Staying Up To Date with Facilities Related Infection Control Risk Assessment
  • Don’t Be One Infection Away From Becoming A News Story:  Water Management Programs
  • Hierarchal Approach to Infection Control: Most Frequently Asked Questions Answered
  • Truths and Myths About Hand Hygiene

On-demand recordings will be available after each live session. All webinars expire March 19, 2021.

The Infection Control Series is an educational offering designed for unlimited use at one facility only. Special healthcare system discounts are available upon request. Call Customer Service at 877.223.6866 option 1 or via email at jcrcustomerservice@pbd.com.

What is a Continuing Education Unit?

Through the Continuing Education Unit System, you receive formal recognition for improving your knowledge and skills by completing Joint Commission seminars.

Under the CEU system, one unit is awarded for completion of 10 hours of participation in our seminars and conferences in an organized, continuing education experience that provides responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction.

What does the CEU mean to you and your career?
You receive immediate recognition for your career development efforts. A CEU certificate suitable from framing will be sent to you upon satisfactory completion of the Joint Commission seminar you have attended.

The CEU system…

  • Allows you to build a permanent record of achievement as you take part in education or training to further your career.
  • Provides a means for showing supervisors, personnel officers and others an official document that shows you have completed a seminar as part of your preparation for wider responsibilities and higher-level positions.
  • Offers a means for giving official confirmation of your completion of continuing professional education seminars to certification bodies, licensing boards and professional societies.

How many CEUs will you earn for your seminars/conferences you attend and complete the evaluation?
