Thank you for supporting JCR’s paperless initiative for our education programs. Here are some tips for your learning success:
  • Bring your fully charged electronic device (laptop, tablet, etc.) with you to the program so that you can access the program materials and take notes.
  • Download/access program materials from the event app. 1-2 weeks before your program, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the program materials. And, those materials will continue to be available to you post-program, on both the event app and the JCR Learning Management System (LMS).
  • If you prefer hard-copy program materials, please print before the program and bring with you. There will be no hard-copy program materials provided on site, other than the agenda itself.
  • Full-text requirements books (with relevant Joint Commission standards for the program) will no longer be provided, either in hard copy or electronically. Please plan accordingly if you want to reference the standards during the program (for example, bring your own manual or plan to access E-dition).
  • Come ready to learn, network with peers, and be prepared for 2018 compliance challenges.

Event Description

Overview:
This fast-paced, 2-day seminar is the first of its kind to address the unique needs of ambulatory care professionals like you who are responsible for Joint Commission accreditation standards and survey compliance related to the Environment of Care (EC), the Life Safety (LS) Chapter, and the Life Safety Code®. You will learn from experienced Joint Commission engineers and have your accreditation and survey compliance questions answered.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Health care professionals responsible for EC and LS compliance in ambulatory surgery, community health, primary care, office-based surgery, diagnostic imaging, telehealth, convenient care, urgent care, kidney care, sleep services, or other ambulatory settings.

• Administrators, Directors and Managers
• Facility and Safety Managers
• Patient safety, quality, and performance improvement staff

The event is for locations that provide services to four or more patients at the same time, including either anesthesia or outpatient services that render patients incapable of saving themselves in an emergency. It also addresses ambulatory surgery centers seeking accreditation for Medicare certification, regardless of the number of patients served simultaneously.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
At this first of its kind event, you will learn tips directly from Joint Commission experts for managing compliance with the EC elements within your ambulatory organization. You will review the core and ambulatory health care occupancy specific requirements of the Life Safety Chapter and analyze the requirements for managing compliance with the Life Safety Code®. You will also gain a better understanding about Project REFRESH and the SAFER Matrix and how the 2012 Life Safety Code® affects the Ambulatory EC and LS requirements.
