Event Description:

It is important to attend the Ambulatory Accreditation Essentials in 2019, a two-day seminar presented by ambulatory surveyors. Not only does this program present challenging ambulatory care standards, it offers ideas and solutions. A variety of issues related to compliance with infection control and safe medication handling expectations in both primary and specialty care settings will be discussed. The impact of the SAFER™ Matrix on Ambulatory surveys and an update on challenges facing outpatient hospital-based sleep labs is included.  Please join us!

Who Should Attend?

RNs, Physicians, and other clinicians and non-clinicians like Administrators, Risk Managers, Facility Managers, Patient Safety Officers, etc., who may direct, coordinate and/or implement processes for compliance with Ambulatory Heath Care Accreditation survey and/or standard processes, as warranted by their job description and/or job responsibilities. They may work in these types of Ambulatory Heath Care Settings: Ambulatory surgery, community health, dental settings, primary care, office-based surgery, diagnostic imaging, telehealth, convenient care, urgent care, kidney care, sleep services or other ambulatory care settings.

4. Recall compliance tips related to the Environment of Care, Emergency Management and/or Life Safety Code standards, as it applies to your ambulatory setting.

Continuing Education

Because regulations and guidelines do change, it is a good idea to check for updates from your state, county or city on a regular basis and always before registering for a specific course to make sure it will be acceptable for your license/certification renewal

The Joint Commission is accredited to provide continuing education credit/hours by the following organizations:

JOINT ACCREDITATION (ACCME, ANCC, ACPE):
The Joint Commission is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

ACHE:
The Joint Commission is authorized to award X hours or pre-approved ACHE Qualified Education credit for this program toward advancement, or recertification, in the American College of Healthcare Executives.  Participants in this program wishing to have the continuing education hours applied toward ACHE Qualified Education credit should indicate their attendance when submitting an application to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification.

CJCP® (Certified Joint Commission Professional®):

To obtain CJCP credit hours, individuals must first be certified before they may start acquiring CJCP credit hours. CJCP credit hours will not be retroactive. CJCP professionals are required to maintain 30 CJCP credit hours within their three-year certification period.

Criteria for Successful Completion:

  • Full attendance at every session is a prerequisite for receiving full continuing education credits
  • Completion of program evaluation form

What is a Continuing Education Unit?

Through the Continuing Education Unit System, you receive formal recognition for improving your knowledge and skills by completing Joint Commission seminars.

Under the CEU system, one unit is awarded for completion of 10 hours of participation in our seminars and conferences in an organized, continuing education experience that provides responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction.

What does the CEU mean to you and your career?
You receive immediate recognition for your career development efforts. A CEU certificate suitable from framing will be sent to you upon satisfactory completion of the Joint Commission seminar you have attended.

The CEU system…

  • Allows you to build a permanent record of achievement as you take part in education or training to further your career.
  • Provides a means for showing supervisors, personnel officers and others an official document that shows you have completed a seminar as part of your preparation for wider responsibilities and higher-level positions.
  • Offers a means for giving official confirmation of your completion of continuing professional education seminars to certification bodies, licensing boards and professional societies.

Payments submitted by check take up to 14 days to process.  If you are registering for a program less than 14 days away, please pay with a credit card or your registration may not be received in time and your seat may not be reserved.

Substitutions, Transfers, and Cancellation Policy
Registration is nontransferable between JCR education programs due to variability in program sponsors. If you find that you cannot attend, you may send an alternate in your place.  Please send us the alternate’s full name, title, credentials, address, phone and e-mail address.  In the event of a cancellation, your registration fee, less a $100 processing fee, is refundable, if written notice of cancellation is faxed no later than 30 days prior to the program date.  All alternate or cancellation information should be emailed to rraudys@jcrinc.com for Hospital CMS Basics, Maximizing Hospital Tracer Activities, and Hospital Accreditation Essentials or Marcia White at mwhite@jcrinc.com for Environment of Care Base Camp and Exploring the Life Safety Chapter. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after this date or for any no shows. JCR reserves the right to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances.

Joint Commission Resources reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a program due to an insufficient number of registrants or other unforeseen circumstances. If a program must be cancelled, the registration fee will be refunded in full to each registrant.
