CJCP® Exam Preparation
Preparing for the Examination
To prepare for the CJCP examination, candidates should be familiar with the Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals (CAMH). We recommend that you not only know the standards, but understand the intent behind them. Studying chapter introductions of the CAMH, introductions to specific standards, and the rationales for standards can help candidates clarify the intents behind certain standards. Other helpful resources include the standard FAQs on The Joint Commission web site, reading Perspectives, as well as considering the 9 education modules/webinars that JCR has available.
CJCP exams will be offered quarterly at a location convenient to you. Once your application is processed and deemed complete, you will be notified of further instructions to begin scheduling your exam time. Candidates have one year from the time of application to take the exam.
The CJCP® Examination is a computer based examination provided at one of our proctored testing site facilities. Most facilities are within 50 miles of all major U.S. cities. Candidates will have 3 hours to complete the examination which contains 150 multiple choice questions.
