Overview:
Understanding The Joint Commission’s Emergency Management (EM) chapter and helping your organization maintain compliance with these standards is beneficial for proper emergency preparation. This program is offered the day before the 2018 Emergency Preparedness Conference and teaches those new to emergency management about these critical standards, with strategies on how to maintain continuous compliance, as well as how to develop emergency management exercises.
 
Who Should Attend:
This seminar is ideal for safety officers and other hospital emergency staff. The following roles will benefit from this event including nursing trauma coordinators, security directors, facilities managers, operations directors, and emergency response teams.

What Will You Learn:
This entry-level pre-conference will provide an in-depth discussion of the six functional areas of The Joint Commission’s Emergency Management chapter. You will learn through lectures and focused breakout sessions, and will leave with an understanding of how to develop emergency management exercises.

  2. Describe the six functional areas of the emergency management chapter of the accreditation manual.
  3. Create an emergency management exercise tied to the 6 critical areas of emergency management

  4. Describe the key lessons learned from a hurricane event related to evacuation vs. sheltering in place.

Payments submitted by check take up to 14 days to process.  If you are registering for a program less than 14 days away, please pay with a credit card or your registration may not be received in time and your seat may not be reserved.

Substitutions, Transfers, and Cancellation Policy
Registration is nontransferable between JCR education programs due to variability in program sponsors. If you find that you cannot attend, you may send an alternate in your place.  Please send us the alternate’s full name, title, credentials, address, phone and e-mail address.  In the event of a cancellation, your registration fee, less a $100 processing fee, is refundable, if written notice of cancellation is faxed no later than 30 days prior to the program date.  All alternate or cancellation information should be emailed to rraudys@jcrinc.com. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after this date or for any no shows. JCR reserves the right to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances.

Joint Commission Resources reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a program due to an insufficient number of registrants or other unforeseen circumstances. If a program must be cancelled, the registration fee will be refunded in full to each registrant. You may verify current program status on our website or by calling JCR Customer Service at 877-223-6866.  Neither Joint Commission Resources nor The Joint Commission is responsible for a registrant's travel expenses in the event a program is cancelled. Participants should also not depend on registering on site, as some programs may be sold out; in these instances, neither Joint Commission Resources nor The Joint Commission is responsible for travel expenses.  Participants are encouraged to purchase refundable tickets in case a program is cancelled or rescheduled. Participants should also be aware that most airline tickets, including nonrefundable or discounted tickets, can be reissued within one year from the date the original ticket was issued.
