Event Description


Joint Commission Resources understands the unique challenges Home Care organization are facing in today’s evolving health care system.  Home Care Executive Briefings have extended their one-day program to help address organizational challenges, and changes in the continuum of care by leveraging the benefits of Joint Commissions’ accreditation.  2018 Home Care Executive Briefings is now a two day, double packed program with much to offer! It is even more important than ever to attend related to its focus on multiple patient safety and quality subjects. Information presented, from expert leaders and Joint Commission surveyors, is given for you to walk away with practical solutions. After the first day’s morning plenary sessions, attendees will break into their respective service area: Home Health, Hospice, Durable Medical Equipment, and Pharmacy for best practices and tips for each area’s unique challenges. This program also contains the role of human factors in patient safety, conducting effective tracers, putting ‘action’ into action planning, and much more! Who Should Attend?

Any healthcare related professional interested in Joint Commission’s accreditation standards related to Home Care! You may be an advanced beginner to an expert in Joint Commission’s accreditation standards for home care. This may include, but not limited to administrators, clinical leadership, managers, and others in the role of  RNs, including RNs in Nursing Homes, Pharmacists, Social Workers, Physical Therapists, Respiratory Therapists, and Medical Directors. And, you may find yourself working in: Home Care, Hospice, Long-Term Care (LTC) Pharmacies, Specialty Pharmacies, Home Infusion, Free Standing Ambulatory Pharmacies, Private Duty, Personal Care, Companions, Complex Rehabilitation, Oxygen Therapy Providers, Health Systems,  Home Medical Equipment, and DMEPOS.

  1. Incorporate key information related to The Joint Commission’s Project REFRESH into your organization’s ongoing survey readiness activities.
  2. Apply tools and resources that can be used in improving the performance of patient care and quality in home care.
  3. Describe at least two hot topics that impact home care accreditation standards or related processes.
  4. Identify the benefits of collaboration, conducting tracers, effective action planning, and other factors have on sustaining or improving patient outcomes.
  5. Explain strategies and compliance tips for home care accreditation standards, including challenging standards, in your home care organization.

Thank you for supporting JCR’s paperless initiative for our education programs. Here are some tips for your learning success:
  • Bring your fully charged electronic device (laptop, tablet, etc.) with you to the program so that you can access the program materials and take notes.
  • Download/access program materials from the event app. 1-2 weeks before your program, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the program materials. And, those materials will continue to be available to you post-program, on both the event app and the JCR Learning Management System (LMS).
  • If you prefer hard-copy program materials, please print before the program and bring with you. There will be no hard-copy program materials provided on site, other than the agenda itself.
  • Full-text requirements books (with relevant Joint Commission standards for the program) will no longer be provided, either in hard copy or electronically. Please plan accordingly if you want to reference the standards during the program (for example, bring your own manual or plan to access E-dition).  
  • Come ready to learn, network with peers, and be prepared for 2018 compliance challenges.

Payments submitted by check take up to 14 days to process.  If you are registering for a program less than 14 days away, please pay with a credit card or your registration may not be received in time and your seat may not be reserved.

Substitutions, Transfers, and Cancellation Policy
Registration is nontransferable between JCR education programs due to variability in program sponsors. If you find that you cannot attend, you may send an alternate in your place.  Please send us the alternate’s full name, title, credentials, address, phone and e-mail address.  In the event of a cancellation, your registration fee, less a $100 processing fee, is refundable, if written notice of cancellation is faxed no later than 30 days prior to the program date.  All alternate or cancellation information should be emailed to Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after this date or for any no shows. JCR reserves the right to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances.

Joint Commission Resources reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a program due to an insufficient number of registrants or other unforeseen circumstances. If a program must be cancelled, the registration fee will be refunded in full to each registrant. You may verify current program status on our website or by calling JCR Customer Service at 877-223-6866.  Neither Joint Commission Resources nor The Joint Commission is responsible for a registrant's travel expenses in the event a program is cancelled. Participants should also not depend on registering on site, as some programs may be sold out; in these instances, neither Joint Commission Resources nor The Joint Commission is responsible for travel expenses.  Participants are encouraged to purchase refundable tickets in case a program is cancelled or rescheduled. Participants should also be aware that most airline tickets, including nonrefundable or discounted tickets, can be reissued within one year from the date the original ticket was issued.
