Event Description

This one day program is designed for professionals that are responsible for coordinating or implementing an orthopedic certification program in their health care organization. During this interactive solutions-based program, participants will be provided with practical strategies and implementation tips that they can adapt and apply in their orthopedic program.
 
Joint Commission’s leadership for the Disease-Specific Care program and reviewers knowledgeable in advanced total joint certification, core total hip and total knee replacement certification, and spinal surgery certification programs will provide an overview of the review process, deliver an in-depth review of the challenging and new standards, choosing appropriate performance measures, and allow time for participants to ask candid questions.

 

 
Who Should Attend:
 
Orthopedic surgeon(s); anesthesiologist or certified registered nurse anesthetist; nursing staff caring for the total hip and total knee replacement patient; pharmacist; discharge planner or nurse case manager; physical therapist; physician assistant(s); advanced practice registered nurse(s); occupational therapist; rehabilitation services (inpatient or outpatient); Ambulatory Surgery Center professionals; and payors
 
One-on one sessions & Networking Receptions

Track C: Spinal Surgery Certification Programs
At the end of the Orthopedic Certification Conference: Spinal Surgery Certification Programs, the
participants will be able to:
  1. Describe the activities involved in the review process for the Spinal Surgery Certification Programs
  2. Summarize the 2019 requirements for Spinal Surgery Certification Programs
  3. Adapt practical strategies and implementation tips that can be applied in their orthopedic program
  4. Discuss the unique aspects of their orthopedic program
  5. Recall compliance requirements

  • Bring your fully charged electronic device (laptop, tablet, etc.) with you to the program so that you can access the program materials and take notes.
  • Download/access program materials from the event app. 1-2 weeks before your program, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access the program materials. And, those materials will continue to be available to you post-program, on both the event app and the JCR Learning Management System (LMS).
  • If you prefer hard-copy program materials, please print before the program and bring with you. There will be no hard-copy program materials provided on site, other than the agenda itself.
  • Full-text requirements books (with relevant Joint Commission standards for the program) will no longer be provided, either in hard copy or electronically. Please plan accordingly if you want to reference the standards during the program (for example, bring your own manual or plan to access E-dition).  
  • Come ready to learn, network with peers, and be prepared for 2018 compliance challenges.

Follow the sign to the Ground Transport/ Baggage Claim, one level down. From the Ground Transport/ Baggage Claim Area- Follow the signs or red arrows on the floors to the Bus/ Shuttle Center, another level down. Proceed through the underground pedestrian walkway area to the Elevator 3 Center or Elevator 4 Center. Take elevator to 1st level- In the elevator, press the Bus/Shuttle button. Continue to the Bus/Shuttle Center area, door entrance will be marked.Please note: The Bus/Shuttle Center is located inside the building and not in the parking lot. Once at the Bus/Shuttle Center area proceed to door #2 and look for the Crowne Plaza O’Hare shuttle. Shuttle runs about every 15 minutes.

Payments submitted by check take up to 14 days to process.  If you are registering for a program less than 14 days away, please pay with a credit card or your registration may not be received in time and your seat may not be reserved.

Substitutions, Transfers, and Cancellation Policy
Registration is nontransferable between JCR education programs due to variability in program sponsors. If you find that you cannot attend, you may send an alternate in your place.  Please send us the alternate’s full name, title, credentials, address, phone and e-mail address.  In the event of a cancellation, your registration fee, less a $100 processing fee, is refundable, if written notice of cancellation is faxed no later than 30 days prior to the program date.  All alternate or cancellation information should be faxed to 630-792-4406. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after this date or for any no shows. JCR reserves the right to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances.

Joint Commission Resources reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a program due to an insufficient number of registrants or other unforeseen circumstances. If a program must be cancelled, the registration fee will be refunded in full to each registrant. You may verify current program status on our website or by calling JCR Customer Service at 877-223-6866.  Neither Joint Commission Resources nor The Joint Commission is responsible for a registrant's travel expenses in the event a program is cancelled. Participants should also not depend on registering on site, as some programs may be sold out; in these instances, neither Joint Commission Resources nor The Joint Commission is responsible for travel expenses.  Participants are encouraged to purchase refundable tickets in case a program is cancelled or rescheduled. Participants should also be aware that most airline tickets, including nonrefundable or discounted tickets, can be reissued within one year from the date the original ticket was issued.
