Product Description

Product Description

The benefits of complete and accurate data capture have far-reaching impact, including improving the quality of care by addressing disparities in care. Today, in the world of healthcare, whether professionals or healthcare institutions, manufacturers, public authorities, insurers, and patients themselves, have difficulty making good use of data, as it is hard to access, complex to process, and rarely shared in a context in which respect for each person's privacy must remain a priority.
Moreover, The Joint Commission uses data as a mechanism to help focus surveyors toward areas within an organization that the data suggest might represent important performance improvement (PI) opportunities. Data also forms the focus of discussion between the surveyor and the organization with respect to PI and how the organization uses data to continuously improve its processes of care.
After completing this activity, the participant should be able to:
  1. Identify useful data that needs to be collected.
  2. Describe ways to aggregate and analyze data.
  3. Discuss ways in which the use of data can help demonstrate and sustain PI.
Target Audience:
This program is relevant to the entire hospital and medical staff, particularly organizational leaders who are responsible for PI initiatives and the staff involved in implementing those initiatives.
