Background


Shannon Haltom is a Registered Nurse with 16 years of experience and holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a focus on Executive Leadership from Abilene Christian University.

With over 10 years of executive leadership experience, including serving as a Chief Nursing Officer, Shannon has been instrumental in guiding teams to excellence in healthcare. As a member of the Nurse Executive Team for the Texas Division of a multi-hospital system, she successfully led her teams through numerous Joint Commission surveys. Under her leadership, her teams earned prestigious recognitions, including the Texas Medical Foundation Bronze Award for Quality and Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade A.

In addition to her leadership roles, Shannon serves as adjunct nursing faculty at Wharton County Junior College. She is also a Maxwell Leadership Certified Trainer and Executive Coach, passionate about developing healthcare leaders.

Shannon is the founder of Run Your Race Leadership and the Billie H. Jones Leadership Academy. She hosts the Unhindered podcast and is the author of the recently published book Training Ground. Dedicated to community service, Shannon serves on the boards of nonprofit organizations such as Rescue Church and STOP Global, where she actively volunteers her time.

Shannon's passion lies in equipping healthcare organizations and leaders with the tools and knowledge necessary to provide safe, high-quality care to their patients.
