Background

Sherri Stroud is a Registered Nurse with 30 years of experience and holds a Master of Science in Nursing from University of Mobile.

As Director for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement she played a crucial role in ensuring compliance with The Joint Commission and CMS standards. With over a decade of experience serving in this role she was dedicated to ensuring compliance.

In capacity as Director of Risk Management, coordinated and investigated Quality Assurance Concerns (QACs) fostering a culture of safety and non-punishable reporting platform. Brought in an online reporting system that any staff member could report near misses, incidents and/or concerns. QAC reported tripled after implementation.

Developed the Workplace Violence policy and Committee to review incidents and implemented action plans for patients/visitors and staff to feel safer.

Provided leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic serving on the Incident Command Team, ensured that regulations were effectively communicated to administration, medical staff, frontline staff as well as patients and visitors.

Developed and chaired Quality Council to review and ensure implementation of root cause analysis, new standards, and new evidence-based practices.

Sherri’s passion is educating staff, providers and leadership on the rationale behind standards; and making changes to ensure compliance.
