Background


As Executive Director of High Reliability Services, Ms. Allbee works with health care thought leaders and system executives on their journey to high reliability through deployment of the Joint Commission enterprise’s high reliability model for healthcare, and high reliability practices and services. She directs operations for customer engagement and product life cycle management for JCR’s high reliability products. Dawn’s passion is providing expert facilitation in assessing an organization’s high reliability maturity and developing strategic plans; training and mentoring leaders in building trust and change management to transform culture; and Robust Process Improvement (RPI®) program development for health care organizations and their leadership teams, domestically and internationally. RPI includes the use of Lean Six Sigma and formal change management to drive results. Dawn is one of RPI’s most passionate advocates, training, and mentoring leaders on the link between RPI and strategic goal of reducing avoidable harm. Dawn presents at healthcare industry conferences on high reliability and change management.

Professional Experience


Ms. Allbee, a certified Master Change Agent and, certified Green Belt, has more than 16 years of experience training all levels of staff in change management, leadership commitment and support, and high reliability. Dawn has successfully led multi-disciplinary teams through transformation initiatives, teambuilding workshops resulting in actionable plans to resolve conflicts and continuously strengthen the team and cultural assessments to improve the culture of safety. She successfully co-led multi-hospital improvement projects focusing on preventing avoidable hospitalizations for heart failure patients and strengthening safety culture nationally.

Prior to her time at The Joint Commission, Dawn held positions in information technology project management, software architecture, technical training and course development, and education.

Ms. Allbee earned her master’s degree in communication from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL.
