Julie McCord
Background
Ms. Julie McCord has served as a System Director of Infection Control for a large non-profit integrated health care delivery system, including acute care hospitals, ambulatory care, and long-term care facilities. With over 37 years of experience in infection control, she is certified as an Adult and Gerontological Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2016 and certified in infection control (CIC) since 1992.
She has presented on a national, state, and regional level on Remote Surveillance, Clostridium Difficile, MRSA, the Role of Infection Prevention in construction-related activities, and many other topics. Ms. McCord has presented at the National Premier Conference in 2023 on Remote Surveillance and was selected to present at the 2024 National Premier Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.
Ms. McCord has published a study on Reduction of Clostridium Difficile utilizing a hydrogen peroxide disinfection system; and she published an article on Clostridium Difficile for the Mississippi Nursing Association. She has also written articles for the Mississippi Nurse Association on Clostridium Difficile and antimicrobial stewardship and resistance.
Ms. McCord is an active member of the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) on a national and local level. She has served on the Practice Guidance Committee, Public Policy and Bylaws Committee. Ms. McCord served as past president of the local chapter and received a National APIC award and recognition on contributions related to OSHA TB rule.
